Allied Paper in 2007The only two Allied Paper buildings left standing in Kalamazoo during 2007 were the 1974-built headquarters building on Portage Road and the Bryant Mill powerhouse. The latter was not demolished with the rest of the mill because the public money ran out. In August 2007, nobody knew how long it would continue to stand as a sentinel to remind people that Kalamazoo was once known as "Paper City".
